IMPACT
The Impact of Your Safari
Travel, when done thoughtfully, can help protect the landscapes and wildlife that make Africa so extraordinary.
Many of the places we visit are not national parks but community lands and conservancies where wildlife and people live side by side. The camps we work with, and the partnerships we support, help ensure that tourism contributes directly to conservation, local livelihoods and the long-term protection of these wild places.
Through our long-standing partnership with Ker & Downey Safaris, many of the landscapes our guests explore are protected through conservation initiatives and community conservancies that rely on responsible tourism.
These are landscapes and projects we know personally, and many are places we return to regularly with our own family.
Conservation _ Climate _ Community
Welcome to a different way of travelling
across Kenya.
Our love story is Africa – the wildlife, cultures, and people who call this continent home. We share places that keep this spirit alive: remote, remarkable, and wild.
Supporting conservation, land protection, and the livelihoods of those who have lived here for generations remains at the heart of everything we do. Your safari directly contributes to these efforts.
Conservation
Through long-standing partnerships with conservancies and wildlife organisations, Everwild supports the protection of some of Kenya’s most important landscapes.
Many of these are community-owned conservancies and key wildlife corridors, where tourism directly contributes to land leases, ranger programmes, and the long-term protection of these ecosystems.
Climate
Through our partnership with Planet Moja, we work to understand and manage the climate impact of travel.
This includes measuring the footprint of each safari and supporting carefully selected projects that protect forests, restore ecosystems, and contribute to the long-term health of the landscapes we explore.
Community
Living and working in Kenya has given us the opportunity to support organisations making a meaningful difference beyond the landscapes we visit on safari.
In Nairobi, we support SHOFCO, a Kibera organisation working to strengthen communities through education, healthcare, and long-term opportunity.
CONSERVATION
Kenya Wildlife Trust
Founded by guides from K&D, the Kenya Wildlife Trust works across some of Kenya’s most important wildlife landscapes - from Amboseli to Samburu and the Mara.
Through predator research, conservation education, and wildlife scholarships, it protects endangered species while supporting the next generation of conservationists. Each stay in a K&D camp contributes directly to this work.
Kituria Conservancy
At the edge of Amboseli, Kituria is protected through K&D’s long-standing partnership as leaseholders.
This is a landscape where elephants move freely between ecosystems, and where conservation and community are closely linked - supporting schools, water access, and local livelihoods alongside the protection of the land.
Mara Ripoi Conservancy
Mara Ripoi is a newer part of the Mara ecosystem, shaped through long-term investment by K&D and a more considered, low-impact approach to tourism.
It is here that we place our private mobile camps - allowing you to experience the Mara in a quieter, more exclusive way, while directly supporting its protection.

How Your Safari Connects to Conservation
Much of the land you travel through is not national park, but community land - protected through partnerships between conservancies, organisations, and the people who live there.
Groups such as Northern Rangelands Trust and Big Life Foundation work alongside local communities to protect wildlife, manage land, and support long-term livelihoods.
For those who would like to go further, we can often arrange time with the people behind this work - visiting conservancies, community projects, or research initiatives along the way.
These are not staged experiences, but a chance to understand how conservation works on the ground, and how your journey fits within it.
If there is a particular cause or project that resonates with you, we would be happy to explore how it could become part of your safari.
