IMPACT

The Impact of Your Safari

Travel, when done thoughtfully, can help protect the landscapes and wildlife that make Africa so extraordinary.

Many of the places we visit are not national parks but community lands and conservancies where wildlife and people live side by side. The camps we work with, and the partnerships we support, help ensure that tourism contributes directly to conservation, local livelihoods and the long-term protection of these wild places.

Through our long-standing partnership with Ker & Downey Safaris, many of the landscapes our guests explore are protected through conservation initiatives and community conservancies that rely on responsible tourism.

These are landscapes and projects we know personally, and many are places we return to regularly with our own family.

Conservation _ Climate _ Community

Welcome to a different way of travelling
across Kenya.

Our love story is Africa – the wildlife, cultures, and people who call this continent home. We share places that keep this spirit alive: remote, remarkable, and wild.

Supporting conservation, land protection, and the livelihoods of those who have lived here for generations remains at the heart of everything we do. Your safari directly contributes to these efforts.

Conservation

Through long-standing partnerships with conservancies and wildlife organisations, Everwild supports the protection of some of Kenya’s most important landscapes.

These include community-owned conservancies, private reserves and key wildlife corridors where tourism directly contributes to land leases, ranger programmes and habitat protection.

Many of the places we work with are not only protected through formal conservation models, but sustained by the presence of responsible tourism that helps ensure these ecosystems continue to thrive over time. Learn more about conservation initiatives down the page.

Climate

Through our partnership with Planet Moja, Everwild works to understand and manage the climate impact of travel.

Planet Moja helps measure the carbon footprint of safari journeys and supports carefully selected environmental projects that protect forests, restore ecosystems and reduce emissions.

This allows our safaris to contribute not only to the protection of wildlife, but also to the long-term health of the landscapes they depend on.

Community

Living and working in Kenya has given us the opportunity to support organisations making a meaningful difference beyond the landscapes we explore on safari.

Hannah is involved with SHOFCO, a Kenyan organisation working to transform urban communities through education, healthcare and women’s empowerment. Through mentoring and support programmes, SHOFCO works with young people and community leaders to create long-term opportunities and strengthen local communities.

While this work sits outside the safari world, it reflects the deeper connection we feel to the country we call home.

CONSERVATION

Kenya Wildlife Trust

The Kenya Wildlife Trust was established in 2007 by guides from K&D to support conservation and education across some of Kenya’s most important wildlife landscapes.

Through research programmes, wildlife scholarships and conservation education, the Trust supports projects that protect big cats and other endangered species in areas such as Amboseli National Park, Samburu National Reserve and the Maasai Mara.

As partners of K&D, a portion of the profits from every guest staying in a K&D camp contributes to the Kenya Wildlife Trust, helping support the next generation of conservationists and long-term wildlife protection.

Kituria Conservancy

On the western edge of Amboseli National Park lies Kituria Conservancy, a vital area of natural springs and woodland that provides refuge for migrating elephants and other wildlife.

The conservancy sits within the Olgulului-Ololarashi Group Ranch, a Maasai-owned landscape that plays a critical role in maintaining wildlife corridors between Amboseli and the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

K&D are proud leaseholders of Kituria Conservancy. These lease payments help protect the land while also supporting community-led initiatives including school bursaries, teacher salaries and the maintenance of vital water points

This is also one of the landscapes where we love to operate our private mobile camps, allowing guests to experience the Amboseli ecosystem while directly supporting the conservation of the land and the communities who steward it.

Mara Ripoi Conservancy

More recently, our involvement has extended to Mara Ripoi Conservancy - a newer, privately managed area of the Mara ecosystem where long-term investment is helping to create a more considered, low-impact model of tourism.

This is also one of the areas where we operate our private mobile camp, allowing guests to experience it in a way that directly supports its protection.

A Wider Conservation Network

Across East Africa, conservation is made possible through collaboration between communities, conservancies, researchers and non-profit organisations working to protect wildlife and the landscapes they depend on.

Many of the areas we explore are supported by organisations such as Northern Rangelands Trust and Big Life Foundation, which work alongside local communities to protect wildlife habitats, manage conservancies and support sustainable livelihoods.

While these initiatives operate independently, responsible tourism plays an important role in sustaining the ecosystems where they work.

Visiting Conservation Projects

Many of the organisations we support welcome visitors who are interested in learning more about their work.

For guests who would like a deeper understanding of conservation in Africa, we are often able to arrange visits to community projects, conservancies or research initiatives during your safari.

If there is a particular cause or project that resonates with you, we would be happy to explore ways to include it as part of your journey.

IMPACT STYLE SAFARIS

Inspired by giving back

  • Women-led Journeys

For women who are curious about the realities behind the landscapes they travel through.

These journeys offer access to the quieter, often unseen side of life in Kenya — where women are shaping change within their communities. Conversations are thoughtful and informal, whether around education, enterprise, or leadership, and sit naturally alongside time in the wild.

Often chosen by women travelling together, or mothers with daughters, these safaris tend to be deeply connective — not because they try to be, but because of who you meet along the way.

  • Next Generation Journeys

For families who want more than just a wildlife checklist.

These safaris are designed with children in mind — not as an afterthought, but as part of the rhythm of the journey. Days are shaped to keep them engaged, while introducing them to the people and stories behind the landscapes they’re exploring.

It’s often the small moments that stay with them — time with rangers, seeing how communities live, understanding where wildlife fits into it all. The kind of trip that quietly broadens perspective without ever feeling like a lesson.

  • Conservation & Coexistence

For those who want to understand what’s really holding these wild places together.

This is a more immersive way of experiencing safari — where the focus extends beyond wildlife sightings to the systems that protect them. Time is spent in landscapes where conservation is active, and where people and wildlife share space in complex, evolving ways.

Often chosen by guests who already have an interest in conservation, or who simply want a deeper, more grounded understanding of the places they’re travelling through.

  • Innovation-led Journeys

For those drawn to how new ideas are shaping the future of Africa.

These journeys offer a different perspective — one that looks at how local thinking, technology, and innovation are being applied in real, practical ways. From conservation to education and access, the focus is on progress happening quietly on the ground.

They tend to resonate with founders, investors, and those interested in systems and solutions — offering a layer of insight that sits naturally alongside an exceptional safari.
